Mossi pot round spike L
This Mossi pot is handmade of terracotta. An iconic design, these types of pots were originally used as sacred water vessels both in temples and homes. One-of-a-kind and an extremely rare find from Burkina Faso, it is made by the Lobi tribe. Mossi pots are some of the most treasured pieces in African ceramics and often embody this classic form; a holy spherical body decorated with evenly-spaced points and a detachable top were often used to wash new born babies.
