The Gorgonian Seafan found in the tropics is a soft coral and do not produce skeletons. Individual tiny polyps form colonies that are normally erect, flattened, branching, and reminiscent of a fan. A colony can be several feet high and across but only a few inches thick.
These fans can be displayed individually, clumped together, or even put in a picture frame and hung on the wall.
